What the GENX All-in-1 CampCare Tool Does (and What It Doesn't)

The GENX All-in-1 CampCare Tool is one graphite unit that takes on five camp chores: it's a butane torch lighter, an air blower, a vacuum, a USB-C power bank and a fire-starting helper, and it inflates and deflates through its air pipes. This guide explains each job in plain terms, what's in the box, how to fill the torch, and where the tool isn't the right choice, so you can decide whether it suits the way you camp.
The five jobs
1. Butane torch lighter
A refillable torch lighter module with a lock/unlock switch. Its wind-resistant flame lights a camp stove, a campfire or charcoal, and it's handy for searing a steak at the grill. Never point the flame at people, pets or the hard case.
2. Air blower
A 110,000 RPM brushless motor drives the blower, which moves 40 CFM of air. Four nozzles (small, medium, large and fine) shape the stream: wide for clearing leaves and pine needles off a tent pad, narrow for blowing dust out of a keyboard, car vents or a camera bag. It also helps with air-drying hair after a lake swim and drying a dog's coat. Keep the nozzle a comfortable distance from skin and fur, never aim it into ears, eyes or a face, and stop if a pet seems stressed. Our post on drying a wet dog at camp walks through it.
3. Vacuum
Fit the vacuum nozzle attachment for small cleanups: crumbs on a camp table, grit in a tent corner, sand on a car seat or floor mat.
4. USB-C power bank
The built-in battery is 96 Wh (24 V, 4,000 mAh), and the 33W USB-C power bank charges a phone, headlamp or other USB-C device at camp. How much charging you get depends on your devices and how you use the tool, so we don't quote a number. For ways to stretch whatever power you bring, see keeping your phone charged on a camping trip.
5. Fire-starting help
Here the torch and blower work together: the torch lights tinder or charcoal, then the blower feeds the coals with a steady stream of air. Use low, steady air from a distance so coals and sparks don't scatter, build fires only in existing fire rings, and drown, stir and feel the fire until it's cold when you're done. Our guide to lighting charcoal without lighter fluid shows the method.
Plus: inflating and deflating
Through its straight and bent air pipes, the unit inflates kayaks, sleeping pads and floats, and deflates them again for packing. Follow the inflatable maker's pressure guidance and don't overinflate. More in inflating and deflating kayaks, pads and floats.
What's in the box
- Main unit (graphite)
- Torch lighter module with lock/unlock switch
- Vacuum nozzle
- 4 air-blower nozzles: small, medium, large and fine
- 2 air pipes: straight and bent
- USB-C charging cable
- Hard case, 14.9" × 12.2"
- Quick-start manual
The tool weighs 2 lbs. GENX is a brand of SmarTech LLC in Kirkland, WA; the tool is designed in the USA, manufactured globally and ships from Kirkland.
The torch ships empty: filling it safely
The torch arrives with no butane in it. Fill it with a standard butane refill cartridge, sold at most outdoor stores. Follow the quick-start manual for your unit; the general routine for a butane torch lighter looks like this:
- Go outdoors, away from flames, sparks, pilot lights and other people.
- Set the switch to lock.
- Fit the cartridge nozzle straight onto the refill valve as the manual shows, and fill without forcing it.
- Wipe away any spilled butane, then let the lighter settle for a few minutes before you light it.
- Unlock only when you're ready to light, and lock it again as soon as you're done.
Check local fire restrictions and burn bans before lighting anything outdoors, and keep the tool away from children.
Charging and the lock switch
The unit charges over USB-C with the included cable; follow the quick-start manual for charging. Topping it up when you unpack from one trip means it's ready for the next. The torch's lock/unlock switch keeps it from firing by accident, so keep it locked whenever the tool is in its case, a bag or a vehicle. Don't leave the unit or butane cartridges in a hot car.
What it isn't
- Not a heater. The blower moves a strong stream of air; it doesn't heat it. It won't warm a tent, and drying hair or fur with it works like drying off in a stiff breeze.
- Not ultralight. At 2 lbs plus a hard case, it's built for car camping, basecamps, cabins, tailgates and overlanding, not for a backpack where every ounce counts.
- Not a tire inflator. The air pipes are for kayaks, pads and floats.
- Not a toy. The torch makes a real flame. Store the tool locked and out of reach of children.
Where it fits, and store terms
If you car camp, grill, tailgate, overland or travel with a dog who loves the lake, it replaces several single-purpose items with one unit in one case.
